Pennywine Entertainment Founder // Artist Management & Label Head
It all started in her uncle´s tiny live-venue: growing up between live gear & nightliners, Sophie Mathes knew early that she wanted to work in the music industry. After 2 semesters of popular music & media studies at the Uni Paderborn, she graduated from her music business studies at Mannheims Pop Academy in 2013.
Since then Sophie did a lot of touring with bands of all genres, worked at Vevo, as a Conceptioner, as Product Manager for Universal Strategic Marketing & later as Streaming Manager for Vertigo/Capitol & Urban. In the beginning of her studies in Mannheim, she met her two companions Lea Preissler & Alina Herzog, with whom she founded the management agency Pennywine Entertainment & the label Pennywine Records.
Since then the 3 ladies worked with artists like Haller, Novaa or Lys, and are now taking care of the german artists MINE & Der Ringer.
Currently - next to Pennywine Entertainment - the 28-year-old is working as a product manager at Caroline International & coaches Bands at the "Bandpool"-programme.
